In progress
As "democracy" seems to be gradually coming back into fashion... even our officially more Green politicians all too often fail to give the citizen-democrat easy cues as to what simpler things can us poor citizens perhaps demand that may make real change. One example is that 200 years ago housebuilders knew that they must position houses to catch the sun - in modern jargon have best "passive solar gain" - to a cheap badly insulated council box dweller probably on low income, that means "if i open the curtains on a winter day the rooms that have good sun warm up and it becomes just about bearable"... such common sense new build practises can save 20% or more on heating bills and co2 waste....quite unbelievably it is not even a part of planning - indeed essentially the opposite applies. Interestingly perhaps, back then 200 years ago... the upper class dwellings were the only ones which routinely ignored the sun-trap rule of thumb. It says quite a lot about our society.   We intend afternoon or evening meets where we can work on simplifying these matters perhaps for you to take into the demos yourselves.
